Accredited Activity

Provides children with formal vocational qualifications and helps develop individual confidence for personal or career development. Contributes towards the skills agenda in the region.

NCFE Sustainable Development provides a formal qualification around environmental issues, developing knowledge and skills that can reduce our impact on the environment. Equivalent to an NVQ level one, this can be delivered to any-one over the age of 11.

Student Apprenticeships provide vocational placement opportunities for 14-16 years old in the fields of horticulture and construction. This links to strategies locally (Local Area Agreements), regionally (Learning Skills Council) and nationally (Every Child Matters). This product can be seen as a pathway onto the vocational diplomas that current Government proposals are looking to run alongside GCSEs and A-Levels. It may also develop in time to deliver part of the land-based diploma.
