Growing Greener Schools Competition
At Groundwork, we believe that school grounds can be an essential part of children’s learning and development. These spaces create an opportunity for children to learn and, just as importantly, to exercise and play. That is why we have decided to hold a competition to help one local school improve their grounds; we’re calling it the “Growing Greener Schools Competition.”
The winning school will receive:
· three design and consultation workshops with a group of pupils of your choice, delivered by a member of Groundwork’s Education Team;
· a small design, influenced by the pupils’ ideas and produced by one of our landscape architects. This would hopefully be used to assist the school in taking the project forward.
If you are interested in helping your students to improve their school grounds, more details and the Growing Greener Schools Competition application form, or any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact Helen Parr on 0121 530 5500 or by email at helen.parr@groundwork.org.uk.
The competition deadline is 16 November 2009. We plan to announce the winning school by 8 January 2010.
Best of luck!
Groundwork is a non-profit organisation with 20 years experience in school grounds improvements. In the past, we have assisted schools, nurseries, and dozens of other community groups with the planning and implementation of such projects.
